Giulia Chillemi, M.Sc.
Manager, Strategic Program Operations
About Me
Giulia was born in New York City and spent the greater part of her youth in the Bay Area. She lived and studied overseas for many years before returning to Berkeley, California.
After completing her undergraduate studies in Comparative Literature at UC Davis, Giulia attained a master’s degree in Experimental Psychology at Georg-August University in Goettingen, Germany. Her graduate specialization focused on Clinical Psychology and Research Methodology. Giulia also completed two rigorous clinical internships in adult and pediatric psychosomatic medicine as part of her graduate program.
Giulia’s 22+ year tenure at the DOR has provided many opportunities to broaden her public health interests across a variety of clinical specialties, and to support research endeavors with far-reaching impact, particularly in Women’s Health.
Giulia’s favorite past time is to hike + swim with her 3 dogs, Pina, Bandit, and Cha Cha, and to engage in challenging debates with her two grown-up kids when they’re around. On weekends, you’ll find her peddling along remote dirt roads or taking her 86-year-old mom on adventures to see provocative art or stunning landscapes.
