Jenna Ritchie, BA
Supervisor, Research Support
About Me
Jenna was born at the Hayward Kaiser Permanente medical facility and grew up in the East Bay. She received her B.A. in Psychology at San Francisco State University and has enjoyed living all over the greater Bay Area, including Santa Cruz, San Francisco, and Oakland.
While obtaining her Psychology degree, Jenna got her first taste for public health research while working as a Research Assistant at several institutions, including UC Berkeley and at a “nightlife safety research” job that required her to administer questionnaires and breathalyzer tests to intoxicated nightclub patrons across San Francisco. While a research career was not her original long-term plan, her love for it grew when she realized that public health research marries her natural abilities and innate curiosity with her desire to do work that positively impacts the world. As she continues to advance her career in Research Project Management, Jenna still occasionally dreams of returning to grad school for a Master’s in Holistic Psychology.
In her free time, Jenna loves spending time with friends, family and animals (particularly her husband and their four cats), playing board and word games, thrifting and estate sale shopping for vintage clothes and knickknacks, swimming (especially in warm ocean water!), and making mixed media art (comics, collages, crafts, clothes – you name it).
