Kelli Sugai

Kelli Sugai, MS
Data Reporting and Analytics Consultant II
About Me
Kelli was born and raised in East County, San Diego. While she has lived all over Southern California, she currently resides back in her hometown.
After completing her undergraduate studies in Psychology at UCLA, Kelli attained a master’s degree in Biostatistics at UC San Diego. Although Kelli originally planned to become a therapist, her path changed when she fell in love with research while working as a Laboratory Manager in the VA Loma Linda Auditory Research Group. Working closely with investigators and clinicians gave her a firsthand look into how scientific studies can be used to improve patient care in a very tangible way.
In her role with the BSCU and beyond, Kelli hopes to gain broad experience across different types of clinical research studies and contribute to work that improves patient care and access. She is also excited to expand her expertise in study design.
In her free time, Kelli enjoys rock climbing, going to the movies, thrifting, and watching TV with her two cats.
