Sally McBride Allen, BS

Manager, Research Project Management

About Me

Sally has lived in both Northern and Southern California and received her Bachelor of Science in Human Services from the University of Phoenix.

Before embarking on her career in clinical research, Sally was a legal secretary. Her current role as Research Project Manager started over 28 years ago when she accepted a temp job at the Kaiser Permanente Division of Research with BSCU’s founding director, Mary Anne Armstrong. This affords her a unique vantage point, having witnessed every stage of the long-term evolution of the BSCU. During her tenure she has worked on many studies regarding maternal health and substance use including KP Regional Early Start Program, the Vessels study, and the 4 P’s Plus validation study, as well as managing the KP Northern California region’s participation in the State of California’s Health Workforce Pilot Project AB154.

As an integral part of the BSCU’s Scientific Research Management Team (SRMT), Sally supports BSCU staff and clients, manages the intake of new research consultations, assists with IRB submissions, creates guidance for BSCU staff and clients regarding compliance policies, and oversees compliance issue reporting. She also contributes to the design and development of our ever-expanding electronic project management system, the BSCU Integrated Gateway (BIG).

In her free time, Sally enjoys being in nature, reading and many creative pursuits. She loves to dance and meet new people.
